      We have all at some point been faced with the issue of renting vs buying a home and which one would be better for us at the time. Considering timing, finances, availability, market, family structure, employment - are just some of the things that affect our decision to go with either renting a home or buying one. 
      In today's hot housing market affordability plays a large role in what decision or path we take. With home prices skyrocketing renting has become a normal option for the long term. Some benefits of it would include financial flexibility, lower cost, and less responsibility. Some cons would be, of course, no benefit of building equity and the fact that you are paying your landlord's mortgage (essentially).
      On the other hand, buying a home is quite a feat and requires not only sound financials but an understanding of what homeownership actually is and the responsibilities and the added costs that come with it. Naturally, not everyone is willing to undertake this large responsibility and this, combined with rising home prices, is the main driving force behind the surge in rentals- and consequent increase in the new rental multi-unit buildings being constructed.

RECO is especially important because it is an administrative authority that was established by the Government of Ontario in 1997 to regulate the conduct of real estate salespeople, brokers, and brokerages.
